Huke's designs inspire me so much and I totally ate up that kind of grungy aesthetic when I was that age already, so I have a lot of fond memories of this series (⁠ ⁠ꈍω⁠ꈍ⁠)

It's so fun to vicariously watch you might never attempt yourself ^w^ and omg that's so funny, in my script I actually had a big rant that I had to cut out due to time about how jarring Makoto's hair color is in his human form compared to his ghost form... I don’t get that same kind of whiplash when I compare Akifumi and Weltraum’s color schemes, half because Weltraum’s color scheme is already so monochromatic that it fits really well with his natural brown hair and eyes, and half because the colors for both his human and ghost form are very similar in value, but in Makoto and Kleinod’s case the value shift for his hair completely goes from one extreme to the other and it just feels so off, like these two designs aren’t for the same character, if that makes sense 😂 but at one point in the MTAGT drafts his human form did have naturally brown hair, darker than Akifumi's 💇

I'm so happy to hear the video was enjoyable to watch! Part of me was worried I explained things poorly or not enough ^^' I'm definitely the kind of person who wants to get into a niche after being inspired by people who have been doing it for like decades but I'm too much of a perfectionist and want to be at their level right from where I'm beginning lol...;; it's a really bad habit although now I'm trying to find ways to create stepping stones towards the things I was first inspired to make so I don't get too frustrated or end up ruining my project. Once I have more free time I definitely want to add practicing animation + learning the ropes of CACANi to my schedule because making the tests for this video has kind of put my in an animation dopamine loop and I have so many ideas for future videos~ Thank you again for your kind words and for taking time to write such a long and thoughtful comment, I always appreciate it so much!! \(^0^)/

We love a good beach episode 😂 it's probably a tie between that and the Christmas special for me! And thank you so much!! Despite the focus on drawing I put in what I release online, when it comes to my original projects I consider myself a writer first and an artist second, so that plus my own packrat tendencies means I have a good chunk of story drafts, old chapters, etc. that would make for potentially more interesting videos than just isolated character art (⁠〃ﾟ⁠3ﾟ⁠〃⁠)

@@ellebastonart that makes sense, I guess it explains a lot. 😆 I was the opposite of that I used to focus a lot more on character designing and concepts which in itself isn’t bad but it didn’t leave a lot of room for actual story writing plus I was not very confident in my writing as a teenager. I don’t consider myself to be a top-tier writer now but I have a lot more to work with story wise now then I did 7 years ago. 🤣

Thank you so much!!! I really wanted to give my videos + social media presence in general a very specific look as a way of branding myself with a very specific image, and I really wanted that image to embody all of the things I love! (Old web aesthetic, galaxies and pastel cool colors) I was first inspired to sketch with shapes by Hyanna Natsu, who draws a mannequin of her poses in an airbrush and then goes over the details with a pencil brush, but I didn't begin using that technique regularly until very recently when I realized how useful it was in blocking in hair styles that are hard for me to sketch the lines for, and from there it helped make lineless art a lot less intimidating for me! And I'm so flattered that I could be an inspiration for you...! (⁠´⁠°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥⁠ω⁠°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥⁠｀⁠) It's honestly kind of surreal to hear that kind of feedback from my artist friends and I never really know what to do with myself if I'm told that because the feelings that kind of comment gives me is so overwhelming ლ⁠(⁠・⁠﹏⁠・⁠ლ⁠) I just know that I'm so determined to be in a better place in 2023 than I was in 2022 by crawling out of my depression hole where I didn't even want to get out of bed most days, and one of the goals I set for myself to overcome that was to draw every day -- even if it's just a few lines of sketches, as long as I'm actually creating something it all counts imo, and I haven't missed a day since the new year began! My goal building off from that is to structure my weeks so I'm working on different kinds of art and dividing my projects across different days so I can balance art I create for others (DTIYS, fanart, etc.) with art from my comic projects, and I hope I can get really consistent with that too and I'll be able to make a lot of progress on my own works this way too!! (sorry for the long reply, i felt like I needed to say something more than just a simple thank you ahaha)
